Sublimation

Sublimation is the change from the solid to the gaseous state. An elastic fabric carrying pigments in a pattern is used to transfer colours.

One or more hot pads press the fabrics onto the part being decorated. The combined action of the heat and the pressure causes the pigment to penetrate the material slightly. This technique ensures decoration is very resistant to wear.
