Electroplating/Metallization
Two main techniques, electroplating and sputtering, are used to obtain a metal finish.
Electroplating is a process by which a variety of metals such as gold, chrome and nickel are deposited with mirror, velvet or satin finishes. Electroplating makes treated parts cold to the touch.
Metallization is a process by which fine particles of aluminium are deposited on plastic trapped between two layers of varnish. Sputtering techniques enable us to offer an even broader spectrum of colours than can be achieved using electroplating.
